Kunkel Pharmacy is proud to offer a service to help you better manage high cholesterol. We are able to perform cholesterol testing and consultation with the Cholestech LDX Analyzer. This instrument is very accurate. All that is required is a finger stick sample of blood and all results are available within minutes. We are certified by C.L.I.A. (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) to perform blood tests to measure your cholesterol and glucose as well as a full lipid profile. Testing is done at the pharmacy during certain hours of the day and evening.

Counseling is also done to help you determine what additional steps can be taken to lower your cholesterol, improve your lipid profile, and lower your risk of heart disease.

This service is not an attempt to substitute for your physician's care, but to serve as additional support for your management of high cholesterol. Many patients want to have a "between" physician visit check of their cholesterol, which we are able to provide. Checking your cholesterol and understanding your test results lets you know your progress on controlling your cholesterol and helps you make changes that decrease your risk of stroke or heart attack.
